General Council
As a reminder, the General Economic Commission is composed of the Superior General, Sisters Claudia Ngema, General Bursar, Marie Anne Louërat from the Province of France, and Elfried Adjinacou from West Africa. Since the commission could not meet earlier, its mandate will begin on March 1, 2021 for a period of two years. The General Council has retained the names of experts whom the commission can call upon when necessary.
The first meeting of the General Economic Commission took place at La Blancheraie in Angers on March 3, 2021. Sister Elfried Adjinacou participated by videoconference from Parakou-Benin. We took time to share on the document of the CIVCSVA, “Guidelines for the Management of Goods in Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

We hope that each Provincial and her council, as well as the bursars and all those who are engaged in reflection on economic matters, will immerse themselves in this document before undertaking concrete actions. The most urgent one, decided by the 2019 General Chapter, is to :
« review our reasons for being where we are,
Based on criteria established by each Province or by the Generalate. To evaluate our works and projects in order to continue them, to modify them, eventually to close them.”
In response to this decision, the commission has established a timetable and a process for working with the Provinces of Lesotho, RSA, Madagascar, West Africa from March 13, 2021 to early September 2021.
Thanks to Sisters Claudia Ngema, Marie-Anne Louërat, and Elfried Adjinacou for your availability and to all those who will work in collaboration with them.

Installation of the statue of the Sacred Heart in the park at the Mother House
March 21, 2021 After several months of absence, it was under a springtime sun that the statue of the Sacred Heart, dressed in white, finally found its place in the middle of the park, to the great joy of the sisters of the Jean-Maurice Catroux community and the communities of La Salle de Vihiers, who sang with one heart: “The Sacred Heart has greatly loved souls… “
It took all the wisdom and delicacy of a team of seasoned technicians to get it back in its place on a newly installed base.
The metal statue was sandblasted to remove the old layers of paint and restore its original features. It was then painted with a rustproofing paint and two coats of weatherproof and wear-resistant paint. Fired at a high temperature to dry and to promote the adhesion of the paints, the statue has regained its full splendor.

COVID 19: VACCINATION CAMPAIGN
The world continues to face an unprecedented health crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The media shows us the inequalities in the care of the sick, in the fight against this pandemic. “How can we remain in solidarity with each other and with those who suffer and die in humanly unacceptable conditions?”
One of the choices of the political leaders of several countries is vaccination.
Here is an overview of the vaccinations in the countries where CFCJ is present. I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to continue to respect the health instructions and to be very careful.
France: Our elderly Sisters living in the EPHAD, in the Jean Maurice community, in the vicinity of the Mother House and in other communities in the Province have been vaccinated.
United States: All the Sisters have been vaccinated: Littleton, Manchester…
Canada : All the Sisters have been vaccinated since February 25 and will have the second dose soon. In Brazil, the situation remains difficult.
Lesotho: The priority is the health personnel, then the teachers and students. It is hoped that the elderly Sisters will benefit from the vaccine.
RSA: Sisters are on hold. The Sisters who work in the provincial clinic in Matikwe and the health staff are also waiting to be vaccinated.
Madagascar: is one of the last countries in Africa not to have launched a vaccination campaign against Covid. At the end of the day on Thursday, the president and the members of the executive finally gave their agreement. It remains to determine which vaccines, to test them…
West Africa: Vaccination is not on the agenda. Testing is still the preferred option.
“Peace be with you,”
is the message of the Risen One to each of us.
This is the message of the Risen One to each one of us, a peace that testifies to his presence in us and among us.
This peace is not confused with well-being, with the absence of inner or outer conflict, but with an intensity of life: that which is experienced by those who are willing to walk, to risk, not to be satisfied with a falsely reassuring “benchmark.” For does not every eruption of God provoke “upheavals”?
